Liv, short for Olivia, is a soulful voice born and raised in Los Angeles California. Having cultivated a healthy curiosity for new voices and sounds at an early age, Liv found singing came second nature. With influences ranging from her late grandmother and her great aunts harmonizing at family gatherings to the cassettes she rummaged through and sampled on her boom box; Liv learned how to use her instrument by emulating the voices she loved. Whether at home, at school or at church she sought out places where she could share her passion with others. From singing in choir to performing in musicals she always felt at home on stage.
However, it wasn’t until college that she truly realized her calling to sing. After Cofounding the all female band Calico Panache with her friends, as their lead singer in 2009, Liv realized she had began a journey and the beginning of an actual career as a vocalist. During her college years Liv sang on a slew of stages and a number of different events, from weddings and galas to night clubs and studio sessions she kept herself busy. Even making an appearance on 106&Park’s “Wild out Wednesday” with Calico Panache as the victors.
Having graduated college and spending 4 amazing years building a following with Calico Panache in Jackson MS, Liv returned home to Los Angeles and began the next phase of her journey as a solo artist. Soon to unveil her first solo project, EP entitled “Just Liv”. You can catch Liv at a number of Open Mic events around the city singing her debut single, “One More Hit” along with, “Your Kind of Girl” and any list of R&B classics. A true fan of hip hop and spoken word, it is not uncommon to find Liv spitting her truth when a melody doesn’t suffice. Never backing down from a cypher, Liv is always up good for a freestyle. Referred to as a songbird by a number of friends and supporters, Liv will draw you in with her soulful voice, sweet melodies, and stories written from her heart. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this songbird on the rise.
